The Cigarette

He watched

the delicate lines

around her mouth

deepen

as she pulled

one last drag,

sending

the red glow

arcing

end over end

onto a pavement

littered

with broken dreams.

Love powerful endings such as "...onto a pavement littered with broken dreams." Lovely!

I have been lurking for a couple of months enjoying your work. You use such simple phrasing, yet there is such subtle complexity. I believe that is called talent m'dear.

There is such complexity between these few lines. Bravo!

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend, Shellie. Wanted to thank you for your fun comment and vote on The Good... The winners were
Clint Eastwood as Blondie, Jack Palance as Tuco, and Jack Nicholson
as the skellie's voiceover. Hope you enjoy House on Haunted Hill?.
btw, not until now did I realize you had another blog. Am looking forward to visiting! :))

Oh, this is soooo good. You feel the deep melancholy mood, with the
few words you've expertly write,
and the form lends to the falling.
Love this Blanca Rosa.
