Hippie Chick

She holds her breath, back
unflinching as the idea of love
is poured like a bright

red wine, staining sleeves, a

beating heart revealed for all

the world to see.
A brushfire

of starry-eyed innocence,

notes of verse and rhyme
passed
between friends.

The shadows of disappointment

have not reached her yet,

she is golden, a child dipped

in
sunlight. I have tucked her
away,
curled her up inside me
among the
green grasses.

And there
she sits majestic
in her crown of
daisies and
a head full of idealistic
dreams

sent crashing out
into the universe,
still believing
she can make a difference
as she
quietly hums a little Joni Mitchell.

“Of faith and hope and love

And of these great three
Love's the greatest beauty

Love
Love Love”

Sorry I've been away so long. I'm going through a tumultuous period in my life. I won't bore you with the details, but just wanted to let everyone know I will still be blogging. And to thank you for all the encouraging comments. It really lifted my spirits.

Sorry hear that you are going through bad times... I was quietly hoping you were off traveling the globe or something fun.
You'll be in my thoughts...

Yes it's rough seas for me right now, but I think I'll be a better person when I get through it. Thanks everyone for the concern.

You dont know what you missed! I broke my toes in a swimming pool the day I was to be released on parole(joking, ok?) and now my foot is in a plaster cast and have been crawling on the other, life is such!
take care!

This is absolutely moving. There are several ways to read this - which is why poetry is so beautiful. I am pretty sure that the lost child wishes that Love prevails in the end. Great stuff. Glad you're back and soooo sorry it has been such a rough patch.

Sorry to hear things have been a little rough. Ah, but tis those hard to handle thorny bushes one sometimes meets along life's path. They can't be avoided and yet when you finally get through them you're met with some unexpected wonderful surprises and beauty.

This too shall pass, my sweet. This too shall pass. Take good care of yourself, exorcise what's ailing you through writing, and get out there and breathe fresh air and exercise- bring up those endorphins that makes you feel good!

((hugs))

Hello Dear Blanca Rosa, I'm so sorry to hear you are going through
this rough patch. But as always your inner strength and beauty are
shining forth. The attitude you
have, knowing you will be a stronger person is intelligent and
wise and will surely be of great
help to you. Love, Cynthia.

Oh, and your poem is so lovely,
you must be writing of the innocent girl inside you, who will
remain there always.

Like a child who is afraid to grow up, when she looks up at the adult world are you! Stay that way! It makes beautiful reading.
