I feel the first beads
of perspiration
sliding down my back
The room swirls
and makes a sucking
sound as if a balloon
is being deflated
Quick, fling open
a window, this fear
is hungry and I can't
breathe
It lies there crouching
waiting, I read once
that Churchill built
walls to keep it at bay
I lay the first brick
I will not let it
overtake me
a splat of mortar
and another brick
I will not let it
overtake me
of perspiration
sliding down my back
The room swirls
and makes a sucking
sound as if a balloon
is being deflated
Quick, fling open
a window, this fear
is hungry and I can't
breathe
It lies there crouching
waiting, I read once
that Churchill built
walls to keep it at bay
I lay the first brick
I will not let it
overtake me
a splat of mortar
and another brick
I will not let it
overtake me

I find this to be a very inspirational poem:)
The wall represents protection from life's challenge. And building this type of protection requires great strength and determination.
I see this as a poem that speaks about overcoming obstacles and every day hardship by not giving up hope :)
