Breathing in Darkness

This darkness wrapped around

me like a cocoon against this

room full of awkward tongues.

Their vitriol hanging from knowing

smiles and cradled in cupped

hands. I tell myself it doesn’t

matter as I feel my chest heave

with their malice which has coated

my lungs like coal dust.

Beautiful expression of gossip!
I wonder if I'd been able to put it so delicately!

Sherrie, thank you for your hysterical comment on "Socko." I've gotten different versions of the same pov. I have my edgy moments! :)) Since my mother was in the hospital, I just about had time to open my e-mails, so I posted a rerun of "Eve's Got Mail"
with new contenders for the roles, if you're interested. Thank you, again, Sherrie!

well - you've written half of my
life, you are a genius.
